Pocket Inventory Privacy Policy

Information stored by the app

Pocket Inventory stores the information you enter to organize your inventory: item names, quantities, storage locations, product barcodes, descriptions and notes, and photos you take or select. It also creates unique item identifiers and a history of inventory activity, including dates, quantity changes, and some previous item details.

Storage locations are text you enter, such as “Garage / Shelf B / Tote 12.” The app does not request or track your device’s GPS location. Selected photos are copied into the app’s storage and may retain metadata already present in the image file.

How information is used

This information is used to display and search your inventory, show photos, track stock and item activity, and generate and recognize QR labels. Inventory records and photos are stored in the app’s private storage on your device. Pocket Inventory does not require an account and does not upload your inventory, photos, or scanned codes to PESystems LLC servers.

The current app does not include advertising, advertising trackers, or third-party analytics or crash-reporting services. PESystems LLC does not sell or rent your inventory information.

Camera and photo permissions

The app uses camera access when you choose to scan a barcode or QR code or take an item photo. Barcode recognition takes place on the device; the app does not upload the camera feed. When you choose an existing photo, the app uses the device’s photo-selection features. Older Android versions may request storage permissions to support these photo features.

You can deny or revoke permissions in your device settings. Features that need those permissions may be unavailable, but you can still enter inventory details and codes manually.

Sharing you choose

When you select “Share QR label,” the app creates a QR image and opens your device’s sharing options. The QR code contains a unique item identifier, rather than the item’s name, notes, photo, quantity, or storage location. It identifies the matching record in a device’s existing Pocket Inventory data; it does not provide access to an online inventory record.

The app passes the label image and may pass the item name as a sharing title to the sharing interface. The app or recipient you choose handles the shared information under its own policies. Copies you share or print remain outside Pocket Inventory’s control.

Retention and deletion

Inventory records, activity history, and photos remain on your device until the app’s data is removed. The app keeps a local backup of the previous inventory file, and older photos may remain in app storage after replacement. Editing a record does not necessarily remove its earlier values from history or the local backup.

To remove all locally stored Pocket Inventory data on Android, open your device’s Settings, select Apps, then Pocket Inventory, then Storage or Storage & cache, and select Clear storage or Clear data. Menu names vary by device. Uninstalling the app normally removes its private local data as well. These actions remove your saved inventory and cannot be reversed through PESystems LLC.

Clearing app data does not delete original photos in your photo library, QR labels saved or shared elsewhere, printed labels, or copies held by other apps or recipients. Remove those separately where appropriate. Pocket Inventory does not provide a cloud backup or synchronization service. The Android app disables standard Android app backup, although device-manufacturer transfer and backup behavior may vary.

Security

Pocket Inventory uses the operating system’s app storage protections. It does not add a separate password or its own encryption layer to inventory files. Protect your device with a screen lock and keep its operating system updated. No storage method can be guaranteed completely secure. PESystems LLC cannot remotely retrieve or erase inventory stored only on your device.

Support communications

If you contact PESystems LLC, we receive the information you choose to send, such as your email address, message, and attachments. We use it to respond to your request and resolve support issues. Email and hosting providers may process these communications to deliver their services. Support correspondence is retained only as needed to handle the request, maintain necessary support records, or meet legal obligations. You may contact us to request deletion of support correspondence, subject to those obligations. Please avoid sending inventory records or photos that are not needed for your request.

Other services and website visits

Google Play, your device’s operating system, photo providers, and apps you choose for sharing may process information independently under their own privacy policies. This policy describes Pocket Inventory. Visits to the PESystems LLC website are covered by the website’s applicable privacy policy.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes to the app or our practices. Updates will appear on this page with a revised effective date. If a change requires an additional notice or permission, we will provide it as required.
